Blairsville Georgia
welcomes thousands of visitors each year to its’ small mountain community, therefore lodging is varied and abundant. You’ll find two national hotel chains in town and two resorts in the immediate vicinity. However, bed & breakfasts and vacation rental homes and cabins are what you will mostly find in Blairsville – something for everyone’s budget – from simple rustic cabins in the woods to luxurious mountaintop chalets. An example of the unique types of establishments found in and around the town of Blairsville is given below.
Guesthouses, cabins and cottages in Blairsville are as quaint and unique as all of the other area’s attractions. The setting for some of these accommodations is just incredible. Many cabins have mountain views, or are situated on lakefront, riverfront and come fully furnished with hot tubs and other special amenities. Others are nestled along creeks or tucked within mountain hollows, some hug mountain ridges that are bordered by the national forest. More than three dozen rental cabin properties are found in Blairsville, including Vogel State Park which has 35 cabins within its’ 233 acres. You can meander along sun-dappled paths or sit on the porch of your cabin, listening to a forest filled with birdsong. Most cabins are near activities such as fishing, swimming, hiking or golf. Blairsville is not the place to come for nightlife – unless the nightlife you’re referring to includes crickets, frogs and other forest critters. This is for those who definitely love nature and are looking for a peaceful, quiet mountain retreat.
Bed & Breakfasts are the second most popular lodging choice in Blairsville. They include beautiful country homes; historic inns and log cabins. You’ll find them housed in old Victorian farmhouses, furnished with antiques, including fireplaces and a private baths in all the rooms. Many have large old-fashioned style porches where visitors are encouraged to sit a spell; one even has a rambling creek that flows through the property. A historic log cabin (one of the oldest in Georgia) is another bed & breakfast inn found in Blairsville. This cabin sits on a homestead that also includes one of the oldest blacksmith shops in the area; an old restored barn and smokehouse. The owners, who hope to restore other buildings on the site to complete the homestead, have lovingly worked on all of the buildings themselves and welcome guests to explore the property. Another bed & breakfast hideaway is decorated with the flair of the 40s, while another historic inn sits on 200 private acres that has breathtaking views of the north Georgia mountains. The hardest thing you’ll do on vacation in Blairsville is deciding where to stay.
